2nd Shift Brewing
Biography & Highlights
You'll hear the rattle of cans and heavy bass pouring out onto Sublette Ave before you even spot the metal door. This south city brewery taproom in St. Louis doesn't pretend to be a polished concert hall. Concrete floors echo every stomp, and the bar is crammed right against a wall of fermenters. It's loud, raw, and industrial in the best way possible. Heavy room.
The corner stage setup is completely stripped down. Bands plug straight into a corner by the giant brewing tanks, and the crowd just piles onto the open concrete floor with a pint of stout or hazy IPA. There's no fancy lighting rig or velvet ropes holding people back. You're standing right next to the mixing board, dodging the mosh pit if it kicks off near the merch table.
Bartenders sling cold drafts fast while local punk and indie rock acts tear through their loud sets. It gets sweltering quick once the room fills up, so don't expect any central AC to save you. Grab a fresh pour, find a spot near the back brick wall, and watch the amps shake the floorboards loose.
